Update- COVID-19 Coronavirus

As you will know, there is ongoing and growing concern about the spread of COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus.

This health crisis is impacting the world, and as a disability support service, we have very specific vulnerabilities and we need to do what we can and must do.

We must respond appropriately, so this week we have taken measures to reduce the risks as much as we can. Yesterday, we commenced the temporary suspension of some services including supported employment, and inclusion and access activities.  Clients & advocates are being contacted to discuss needs, and options individually.

Our In Home Support Services continue with rigid safety precautions in place, to as best we can minimise risk of infection for clients and workers.

We understand the significant implications and additional pressures on our clients their advocates, workers, families and broader community. This was a difficult decision but one that we needed to take to look out for our wonderful clients, workers and the broader community.

Changes also impact our Sapphire Team.  We ask that you please contact our Sapphire Offices by calling us on 6499 0800 rather than drop in.  As many meetings as possible will be held via phone in the very first instance.

These are all basic precautions that relevant authorities are strongly encouraging. We look to Department of Health as the authority.  The National Hotline operates 24/7, and those who are concerned can call 1800 020 080 and/or call your GP.

During difficult times we know that our Bega Valley Community is up for the challenges, as is Tulgeen.  We have survived fires and droughts and whatever else is thrown at us!  Tulgeen is looking to the future, the return to full services as when safe to do so.  Our big building project is gathering momentum with the planning well underway and I will be excited to share progress with you in the very near future.

Take care everybody.
