Tulgeen Supported Employment FAQs
Is supported employment funded by the NDIS?
Yes – Supported Employment is funded by the NDIA as part of the NDIA employment supports. How do you know if it’s in your plan? The NDIA calls it ‘Finding a job (supported employment)'. If you have this written into your plan you should be eligible for supported employment if there is an employer in your area.
Am I eligible to become a support employee?
If you have a disability and have an NDIS plan that states ‘Finding and keeping a job’ then you may be eligible to participate in our Support Employment Program. You will need to contact your support coordinator or local Area Coordinator (LAC) to discuss your eligibility.
If you don't have an NDIS plan, you can contact the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to apply.
What jobs can I do?
Tulgeen offers a range of opportunities for those looking for something new. You could be working at our Riverside Nursery, our INPRINT service, or we can even provide you with support in a job with a different company.
What's the difference between supported employment and open employment?
Supported employment is employment designed for people with disabilities. It's great for those who need more support than they get at a regular workplace. You are supported to find and keep a job.
Open employment is a job where you do not require any support to maintain your employment.
Do supported employees get paid?
Yes, supported employment is paid work.
Riverside Nursery is an Australian Disability Enterprise managed by Tulgeen Disability Services.
